After reclassifying to the 2024 recruiting cycle in early December, Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) Benjamin four-star EDGE Amaree Williams followed up with an official visit to Florida State just before the Early National Signing Day.

“I love their family aspect,” Williams told Warchant in December. “You know, a lot of people may say that, but it’s like true here at Florida State. So I feel like that was a big thing for me. I was able to see that throughout my whole weekend. See coaches’ kids, wives, you know, whole family … that was big.”

He also spoke with Seminoles head coach Mike Norvell while in Tallahassee.

“He told me everything I wanted to hear,” Williams said. “They talk about head coaches are salesmen at the end of the day. But you know, he’s more than just a salesman. He’s trying to put players in the right situation, trying to see them grow and see them be the best they can be. It’s not just about Florida State; it’s about the players ourselves.”

While Williams did not choose to commit and sign in December, the Seminoles still appear to be the team to beat.

Florida State recruiting insider Michael Langston logged an expert prediction with a 70% confidence level that the Seminoles would land Williams when he is expected to sign his letter of intent in February. Florida State now leads for Williams in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 92.5% chance of receiving his commitment.

Williams is the nation’s No. 169 overall prospect and No. 16 edge rusher in the 2024 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 23 recruit from Florida.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $78K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
