Florida State trending for 4-star IOL Dontrell Glover
Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes four-star interior offensive lineman Dontrell Glover reopened his recruitment in January after Nick Saban’s retirement from Alabama, and a number of schools jumped in the mix.
Earlier this month, he named a list of nine top schools, with Arkansas, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Miami, Missouri and Tennessee each making the cut. But Glover also hasn’t been shy about saying which school is at the top of that list — Florida State.
The Seminoles are trending heavily in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) as well, and they received an expert pick in their favor on Friday morning from Auburn recruiting insider Cole Pinkston. That followed a pick earlier this month from Florida State insider Matt LaSerre.
“Ever since the four-star interior offensive lineman decommitted from Alabama following the retirement of Nick Saban, it has been clear that FSU is a major player in his recruitment,” LaSerre wrote. “He has had the Seminoles high on his list ever since he visited for a Junior Day in January.
… After that visit, Glover went on On3’s “Five-Star Flex” with Phillip Dukes and named the Seminoles the leader in his recruitment. Then earlier this week, the Atlanta-area standout released his top nine schools, and he doubled down on the fact that Florida State is his leader.”
Florida State impressed Glover on his first visit
Glover visited Florida State for the first time in February, and they immediately made a big move for him.
“You can say Florida State is on top of my list right now,” Glover told On3’s Chad Simmons last week. “I visited, I got the offer, and I liked it a lot. The staff really stood out. Coach Mike Norvell is a cool guy and I see him as a younger Nick Saban. He has great energy, he is a smart coach and he gives a lot to the game.”

He and offensive line coach Alex Atkins developed a strong connection as well.

Auburn, Georgia and Tennessee sit high on Glover’s list
Three SEC programs also have Glover’s attention, and he broke down his interest in them.
Auburn: “I have visited Auburn three times and they have been recruiting me since the 10th grade. The old staff and the new staff has shown a lot of interest in me. I like Coach Hugh Freeze, the new coaches and what the team is doing. I have good connections with the players and the coaches there.”
Georgia: “I live in Georgia and a lot of people around me like Georgia. I camped there last summer and I like Coach Kirby Smart. Coach Stacy Searels and I stay in touch too. I hope to get back up there.”
Tennessee: “I haven’t visited yet, but I hope to this spring. So many coaches recruit me from Tennessee. Coach Glen Elarbee, Coach Josh Heupel, Coach Kevin Pendleton, Coach Max Thurmond – they all show love. I have to get up there.”
