Florida State trending to flip 2025 Miami Five-Star Plus+ DL commit Armondo Blount
Miami Central Five-Star Plus+ defensive lineman Armondo Blount wasted no time committing to Miami, pledging to Mario Cristobal and the Hurricanes on Sept. 14, just two days after announcing his top five schools.
One of the other teams in Blount’s top five is now trending to flip the 6-foot-3.5, 250-pounder, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). Blount is expected to be in Tallahassee this weekend as Florida State takes on Duke Saturday night, and the Seminoles may be in line to add him to their 2025 class soon.
Following multiple RPM picks logged by national recruiting analysts and insiders, FSU now has an 89.9% chance to pull off the major in-state flip. Blount, the No. 4 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle — per the On3 Industry Ranking — would be just the third pledge for Mike Norvell and Co. in the class.
Blount was in Orlando for FSU’s season-opening win over LSU at the beginning of September. He left impressed by the Seminoles’ defensive line and the FSU-favored atmosphere at Camping World Stadium.
“That was my first ever Florida State game, and it was really intense,” Blount told Warchant. “The crowd was going crazy and matched the team’s energy, so it was great all around.”

Blount has an On3 NIL Valuation of $219K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
Armondo Blount Scouting Summary
“Versatile, athletic defensive lineman who is capable of creating disruption from any spot on the defensive front. Looks like one of the more physically-gifted defenders early on in the 2025 cycle. Measured in at close to 6-foot-3.5, 250 pounds. Has the size of a future defensive tackle but the athleticism and pass rush skills of a top EDGE prospect. Flashes a plus first-step and quick hands both on Friday nights and in camp settings. Turned in a dominant sophomore campaign at Miami Dillard, showing advanced pass rush skills as a stand up rusher.
…Lives in the backfield, using his athleticism, strong hands and instincts to make plays behind the line of scrimmage. Also doubles as a top track and field athlete, with a personal best of 55-6 feet in the shot put. Remains to be seen where he’ll end up from a size perspective, adding to some ambiguity around his position long-term.”
