Florida State WR Deuce Spann enters the NCAA Transfer Portal
Florida State WR Deuce Spann has entered his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal.
On3’s Pete Nakos confirmed Spann’s entry into the portal this morning.
Spann has spent the past three seasons with the Seminoles after starting his collegiate career with two years at Illinois. Overall, he has 15 receptions for 216 yards and a pair of touchdowns. However, that production has fallen off the past two seasons after decent numbers as a redshirt freshman and redshirt sophomore.
10 of those catches for 92 yards have come in 20-plus games while with FSU in Tallahassee.
Spann, a native of Saint Petersburg, Florida, played high school football at Lakewood. He was formerly a quarterback in his prep career and was a three-star prospect as one. He was the No. 758 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also rated as the No. 52 QB and the No. 105 overall player out of the state in that class.

Spann could now be the first of many portal transactions this upcoming offseason for Florida State. They’ve been one of the busier programs in the portal the past three offseasons with almost 40 additions and subtractions per, including an average of 25 departures. That could now be even more this winter with the Seminoles’ being 2-9 overall this fall and staff members having already been fired.
