Florida State wide receiver Jalen Brown plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, per On3’s Pete Nakos. He has reportedly been removed from the roster.

Last season, Brown caught eight passes for 75 yards over the course of five games. He began his career at LSU out of high school.

As a member of the Class of 2023, Brown was a four-star recruit out of Miami (Fla.) Gulliver Prep, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 18 overall prospect in the state, the No. 13 wide receiver in the class and the No. 79 overall prospect in the class.

Jalen Brown to enter transfer portal

Brown isn’t the only Florida State wide receiver to move on. Hykeem Williams is also portal bound from earlier this week.

Williams was a member of FSU’s vaunted 2023 recruiting class and was ranked as the No. 34 overall prospect and No. 4 WR that cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He saw the field in eight games as a true freshman, catching five passes for 80 yards and a touchdown. 2024 was expected to be his breakout campaign, but the Seminoles’ offense struggled mightily and Williams caught just 16 passes for 187 yards in nine games.

As a high schooler out of Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Stranahan, he chose the in-state Seminoles over Texas A&M, Miami, Georgia and dozens of other offers.

The 6-foot-2, 215-pounder will have two years of eligibility remaining at his next school.
