Florida State’s Cam’Ron Fletcher plans to enter his name into the transfer portal per a tweet by Jon Rothstein at CBS Sports.

Fletcher just completed his third season with the Seminoles. That came after starting his career with one season at Kentucky.

Fletcher has appeared in 55 games in college, including 46 while in Tallahassee. However, he has appeared in just 17 games the past two years after injuring his right knee in consecutive seasons with one being a torn ACL in his junior year, which was on pace to be his best through 10 games. The second injury also ended his senior season this past year just seven games in. He also underwent a season-ending thumb surgery in his sophomore year

In his outings, Fletcher has averaged 6.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, and a steal while shooting 43.9% from the floor and 33.9% from three in 17 minutes per game. While with the ‘Noles, he posted 7.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, an assist, and a steal a game.

Fletcher played high school basketball at Vashon as a native of Saint Louis. He was a four-star prospect there as the No. 63 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranked as a Top-20 SF in the class and the No. 2 player out of Missouri behind only PG Caleb Love (North Carolina, Arizona).

Fletcher originally committed to John Calipari and the Wildcats out of high school. He arrived in Lexington as lowest-ranked of six commitments, including being one of four four-stars. They made up the No. 1 class in the nation per On3’s 2020 Industry Basketball Team Recruiting Rankings. Only one remained after their season in the bluegrass after Brandon Boston and Isaiah Jackson went to the NBA Draft, Fletcher and Devin Askew transferred, and with the devastating passing of Terrence Clarke. Lance Ware, the player who did stay, later transferred as well after two more seasons.

Fletcher will now be the seventh transfer from Florida State this offseason. De’Ante Green (South Florida), Cameron Corhen (Pittsburgh), and Tom House (Furman) have all already committed elsewhere. Baba Miller, Primo Spears, and Jalen Warley are all still looking for new programs. Fletcher will be too upon his official entry.

In turn, Leonard Hamilton has made one portal addition in Hampton’s Jerry Deng. Deng appeared in 33 games this past season as a freshman with the Pirates and averaged 10.1 points and 4.2 rebounds while shooting 46% from the field and 39.1% from three.
