Former Florida State star re-signs with NFL team
Former Florida State defensive back and five-star recruit LaMarcus Joyner is re-signing with the Jets, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports.
Joyner, 31, is set to return to New York following a 2021 season that was ended after one game thanks to a torn tricep in their season opener against the Carolina Panthers. He didn’t record a single tackle in the the loss.
Previously, the FSU product spent his first five seasons in the league with the Rams, including their last two seasons in St. Louis from 2014-2016. He was a second round selection (41st overall) by the then-St. Louis Rams where he’d go on to have a decent rookie campaign appearing in 10 games (including one start) and amassed 40 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 2 pass deflections and 1 sack.
Joyner has been a starter in every season since, including his two-year stint with the Raiders. Once he arrived in New York, Joyner hopped right into the Jets’ starting lineup. Expect him to do the same as he enters his ninth season in the NFL.

As you can see, Winston‘s arm is still electric. As the former No. 1 overall pick attempts to rebuild his NFL career, the future in uncertain. However, one thing is certain — there’s plenty of life left in Winston‘s arm.
In the seven games he appeared in before tearing his ACL, Winston led the Saints to a 5-2 record. The Saints ultimately finished 9-8 and missed the playoffs despite finishing second in the NFC South. Prior to his injury, Winston had completed 95 of his 161 passes (59%) on the season for 1,170 yards, 14 touchdowns, and just three interceptions. He also had 166 rushing yards and another score on the ground.
Time will tell where Jameis Winston plays next season. Still, it’s evident there’s one thing you won’t be able to takeaway from Winston — the man is putting in the work on the road to recovery.
