Four-star offensive tackle Manasse Itete of Modesto (CA) Central Catholic announced his commitment to Florida State Saturday afternoon.
The 6-foot-5, 295 pounder decommitted from USC yesterday.
Itete on why he chose Florida State
“I believe coach Norvell, coach Atkins and the whole staff are building something unthinkable that will surprise a lot of people. Also the relationship and love they always show me was unbelievable. I believe they will develop me on and off the field and my dreams will become true in a couple years.”
Relationship with coaching staff + their plan for him
“I’m very close with coach Atkins and also Darrick Yray, is General manager at FSU. They have a huge plan for me as a guard and tackle.”
Scouting Summary
“Physical, athletic blocker who looks like one of the top offensive line prospects on the West Coast. Measured at around 6-foot4.5, 290 pounds with a 6-foot-10 wing-span and 10-inch hand prior to his senior season. Added over 30 pounds during his junior year. Posted a 4.91 second short shuttle at Under Armour’s Los Angeles regional. A twitchy mover on the field. Shows good functional athleticism. Has some burst and explosion. Slings opposing defensive linemen to the ground with his upper body strength. Works to finish blocks and plays with aggression. Also shows some athleticism on defense. Undeveloped technically and will need to learn pass blocking technique. Does not play strong competition at the high school level. A bit older for the cycle, turning 18 in his junior year.”
