Florida State defensive lineman Ayobami Tifase entered the NCAA Transfer Portal on Wednesday night. The 6-foot-4, 299-pound defensive lineman played his high school football at Concordia Prep (Baltimore, Maryland).

Here is the post he put on his Twitter page.

“I want to thank the man above for blessing me with the opportunity to play the sport I love. It’s been an amazing journey, and I’m thankful for the experiences and memories created at FSU. Huge shoutout to Coach Norvell, Fuller & Odell for pushing me. To the staff, my brothers & friends at Florida State, I’ll forever appreciate the impact you’ve had on my game,” he wrote.

“I’ve come to a difficult but necessary decision for my future. I’ve decided to enter my name into the transfer portal with 3 years of eligibility. I owe a huge thank you to the entire University for helping me succeed in the classroom and molding me into a better student athlete. With gratitude for the past and excitement for the future, I’m stepping into the next chapter of my athletic career. Ayobami Tifase.”

In 2023, Tifase played in one game for the Seminoles, the Syracuse game on October 14th, racking up one tackle. During the 2022 season, he spent time on the FSU scout team while redshirting.

Before joining the Seminoles, he reclassified to become a member of the 2022 cycle. In 2021, he helped guide Concordia Prep to win the MIAA Class B state championship and finish with a 10-2 record. Tifase was the anchor of a defensive line unit that allowed just 9.4 points per game.

In 2020, the Saints played just three games due to the Covid pandemic. Their defense had shutouts in each of their final two games that year. Before joining Concordia Prep, Tifase wrestled for Milford Mill Academy.
