FSU Football: Las Vegas releases early point spreads for 3 games on Seminoles schedule
Las Vegas has announced three new point spreads for FSU football’s 2022 schedule. This comes less than two months before the 2022 season begins.
FanDuel is now listing spreads for Florida State’s games against LSU, Miami, and Florida. Those are FSU’s second, ninth, and twelfth games of the season respectively. Interestingly, the odds are on FSU’s marquee opponents, rather than their first three opponents.
In two of the three games, the Seminoles are an underdog. However, they are currently a slight favorite in their rivalry game with the Florida Gators.
The Spreads
- LSU (@Superdome)
- Florida State +3
- Miami (@Miami)
- Florida State +9.5
- Florida (@FSU)
- Florida State -2
What does this mean for FSU?
FSU needs to have a turnaround season in year three under Mike Norvell. To this point, things have been a struggle. However, if these spreads are accurate, those challenges are still going to exist in Florida State’s key games.
There are several factors that make these games difficult to judge, though. All three of these opponents are entering year one under a new head coach. That inherently leads to question marks for each program.

Last year, Florida State played Miami and Florida as they were going through internal turmoil. They managed to beat the Hurricanes at home while losing to the Gators on the road. The Seminoles haven’t played the Tigers since 1991.
Based on these spreads, Las Vegas clearly expects Miami to be the toughest challenge for FSU in 2022. LSU, despite the game being played in New Orleans, has tons of question marks to answer. At Florida, new head coach Billy Napier has tried to temper expectations in year one, pointing out the challenges of rebuilding.
Whether or not FSU can win these important games will likely determine if the Seminoles have a successful season or a disappointing one.
Expect these odds to change as bets are placed on them. Furthermore, as the season begins, lines at the end of the season will change too, with injuries and on-field results.
