FSU freshman forward Christian Nitu enters NCAA Transfer Portal

The 6-foot-11, 220-pound Nitu appeared in 22 games for FSU this past season, averaging 1.9 points, 1.3 rebounds and 6.9 minutes per game as a true freshman.
Nitu was a three-star recruit out of Fort Erie International Academy in Toronto (Canada), ranked as the 39th power forward in the 2024 class and No. 25 prospect from Canada, according to On3’s Industry Rankings, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Nitu was also a member of Team Canada’s under-17 national team that participated in the 2023 World Cup.
Nitu becomes the latest FSU player to hit the portal, joining fellow freshmen forwards Waka Mbatch and Anastasios Rozakeas, sophomore forward Taylor Bol Bowen and junior guard Chandler Jackson since the portal officially opened Monday.

FSU freshmen forwards Waka Mbatch, Anastasios Rozakeas enter NCAA Transfer Portal
Rozakeas spent one season with the Seminoles. He appeared in 13 games as a reserve for FSU and, across those outings, Rozakeas totaled six points in making two of his six shot attempts, four rebounds, two assists, and a steal. Essentially all of that came in the final minutes of a win over Georgia Tech in mid-January where he put up five points on two made shots plus a rebound.
Rozakeas is a native of Athens, Greece. He graduated from Spyros Papacharalampous Schools – Private Senior High School there and, instead of remaining in his home country, decided to come play college basketball in Tallahassee. That’s after also participating in the 2024 FIBA U18 Championships for Greece.
Mbatch played just two games as a freshman and two this past season with Florida State. He’ll now look elsewhere to continue his college career.
A graduated from Kotu Senior Secondary School in 2022, Mbatch began playing basketball at the Hope Basketball Academy. He averaged a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds in his final season at the Hope Basketball Academy. Mbatch was also named as the Defensive Player of the Year in the 2022 Championship Season at Hope Academy in 2022. He played in the premier division league in his home country of Gambia.
