FSU reveals Heisman Trophy campaign for Jordan Travis day after 2022 national championship
The 2022-23 College Football season is in the books. So, what’s that mean for fan bases around the country? Time to start shoveling coal into the 2023-24 hype train. The Florida State team Twitter account wasted no time in promoting next season by officially launching a Heisman Trophy campaign for starting quarterback Jordan Travis.
Travis announced back in early December that he would return for a sixth year of college football after serving as the FSU starter for the majority of the last three years — and he started every game in 2022. As a fifth-year junior this fall, Travis and the Seminoles enjoyed their most successful season together as he racked up over 3,200 passing yards and 24 touchdowns.
With numbers like that and five years of collegiate experience already under his belt, it’s reasonable to assume Jordan Travis could compete for the 2023 Heisman Trophy. His school is all aboard, and posted this video on Tuesday morning promoting his quest for college football’s most prestigious singular award:
Travis originally committed to Louisville in 2018 out of The Benjamin School in North Palm Beach (FL). He was a three-star recruit and the No. 61 quarterback in the class according to On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average.

Travis spent just one season with the Cardinals before transferring to Tallahassee is 2019. He took over as the starter midway through the 2020 season, and entered 2021 as the Week 1 starter and hasn’t looked back since.
With Jordan Travis returning for the 2023 season, he’ll have one more opportunity to take the Seminoles to even greater heights and improve his NFL Draft stock in the process. Given the breakout nature of this season under Mike Norvell, perhaps FSU can finally get back into prime, playoff-contending form next fall. A lot to like about the immediate future of Florida State football.
