No. 4 Florida State dodged a bullet this past weekend in Chestnut Hill against Boston College. Now, with their resume still intact after a close call with the Eagles, Jared Verse hopes the Seminoles take note and correct what led to what could have been a loss.

Verse spoke about the lesson that Florida State left Alumni Stadium with during his media availability on Tuesday. He said that it was a very clear reminder that they’re the hunted and there are several other hunters on their slate who want to get them and could get them if they’re not better.

“I think it was definitely a lesson learned,” Verse said. “You can’t look down on any opponent you go up against. Everybody has a hit out on us, they want to get us. Everybody has got something they want to prove against us. (Boston College) did that and we can’t let that happen again.”

Boston College competed with Florida State all throughout the first half. Then, after the Seminoles took a 21-point lead at the start of the third from two quick scores, the Eagles nearly mounted a complete comeback as they scored three touchdowns to close the game to bring it within two.

BC could have had a one-point lead had they not missed an extra point and failed to convert on a two-point try on two of those late trips to the endzone. They may have actually won or won by even more had they not committed 18 penalties.

Since they didn’t, though, Verse wants the Seminoles to take this for what it was, especially ahead of their matchup with Clemson this weekend. He knows that they squeaked by against Boston College and will have to play better in order to avoid sweating it out like they did in the future.

We’ve got to go out there and play how we play,” said Verse. “We’re a top team and we can’t let that ever happen again.”

Mike Norvell gives update on Jordan Travis after injury vs. Boston College

Mike Norvell provided an update on QB Jordan Travis after the injury he suffered against Boston College on Saturday.

With a gigantic showdown with Clemson on the horizon for next weekend, Norvell gave Seminoles faithful some positive news regarding their quarterback.

“I was proud of him coming back,” Norvell said. “He got hit there, during the two-minute drill. Landed awkwardly. He was uncomfortable, probably physically, going into the second half. He came out, first two drives had touchdown drives. Made some really good throws. Had some runs there late that were really good.”

“I mean, he was sore after the game. But you know, I’m not worried about what his health will be here going forward.”
