Florida State just wrapped up its best season since 2016 with a 9-3 record. However, nobody in Tallahassee is satisfied with just that. The Seminoles sound ready to get their 10th win from what sophomore WR Johnny Wilson said to open the week.

Wilson said he’s proud of the way the Seminoles have bought into the Cheez-It Bowl during his media availability. He says this team wants to leave a legacy by finishing strong. While several have next steps in their careers to take, he says they’re all individually willing to put their futures on hold if it means they can accomplish that with one last win.

“They want to leave a legacy, they want to make an impact on this program and on this team. For all the dudes that are coming back and playing in this bowl game, it shows a lot about this team. About the brotherhood that we’ve built,” said Wilson. “There’s a lot of dudes that could go pursue their dreams at the next level or do what they want. But, at the end of the day, they all want to come together and get this win together.”

“We’ve brought so much excitement and so much togetherness to this team as a whole. Everyone just wants to go get this last win together,” Wilson said.

Florida State hasn’t achieved a double-digit win mark since 2016. They haven’t appeared in a bowl since 2019 and haven’t won one since 2017. That’s why this means so much to the Seminoles. This third season under Mike Norvell has set the stage for their program to re-emerge in the ACC and on the national stage. Capitalizing it with a win over Oklahoma will go a long way in them finishing the job and ending this season on a high note.
