WATCH: Jordan Travis connects with Ontaria Wilson on 39-yard reverse flea flicker
The Florida State Seminoles have come to play early on Sunday night in their primetime matchup against the LSU Tigers. The ‘Noles delved into their bag of tricks on the 39-yard line early in the second quarter. Down 3-0, they decided to dial up a reverse flea flicker. FSU quarterback Jordan Travis took the snap in the shotgun and handed the ball off to ‘Noles running back Treshaun Ward. Ward then handed the ball off to receiver Mycah Pittman, who came back into the FSU backfield on a reverse. Pittman then pitched the ball back to an awaiting Jordan Travis, who pulled up at the 48-yard line and put all of his energy into a deep strike that hit a wide-open Ontaria Wilson in the end zone.
LSU defensive back Mehki Garner was trailing Florida State’s Ontaria “Pokey” Wilson by several steps, eventually caught up to him in the end zone, but was called for pass interference on the play. The beautifully executed play put the Seminoles up 7-3 early in the 2nd quarter.

Last week in the ‘Noles’ season-opener against Duquesne, Travis completed 73 percent of his passes for 207 yards. He also ran for a touchdown score in that one.
It was a beautifully designed play by the Florida State coaching staff and a big way to flip the momentum in Sunday night’s game. In the first half, Travis connected on 9 of 15 passing attempts in the first half for 110 yards and a touchdown. He also tacked on six rushes for 29 yards on the ground. The LSU Tigers struggled to get anything going in the first half so far, but the Seminoles are only up 7-3 at halftime. Florida State blocked an LSU kick with less than five minutes remaining in the second quarter.
