The Florida State offense is playing at another level so far this season and Keon Coleman is a big reason why. The Michigan State transfer had a monster game on Saturday against Syracuse to lead FSU to a 41-3 victory.

Coleman caught nine passes for 140 yards and a touchdown and also added a 72-yard punt return against the Orange.

After the win, Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis shared how Coleman has sparked the Seminoles offense in 2023.

“One of the bigger sparks since I’ve been here,” the veteran quarterback told the TV crew after the win. “Just having a guy like that, with Johnny [Wilson] out today. Just making big plays. I can throw the ball anywhere. I threw the ball really, really high on that play and Keon went up with one hand and made a big-time play. He’s just a great guy with great vibes on the sideline and we’re so grateful to have him.”

The play Travis is referring to is Coleman’s one-handed snag for a 27-yard gain on the opening drive.

The catch was one of the best of the college football season. You can see the play here:

Keon Coleman entered the game with 20 catches for 268 yards and six touchdowns. He now has 29 receptions for 408 yards and seven scores.

Jordan Travis sees plenty for Florida State to clean up

Even though Florida State ended up winning by a large margin against Syracuse, it wasn’t a walk in the park from start to finish.

The Seminoles made several costly mistakes that allowed the Orange to hang around in the first half.

Travis was pleased with the overall play of the offense but wants to see FSU be more crisp from start to finish moving forward.

“We’ve got players like Keon Coleman, Trey Benson, LT, and a great offensive line, with great coaches,” Travis said. “There were some mistakes today on both sides of the ball that we’ve got to clean up. But all glory to God. We’re 6-0. I can’t be more thankful. I’m so thankful for the fans for coming out and supporting us always. I’m just grateful.”

Florida State is now 6-0 at the halfway point of the season, as the Seminoles are continuing to have a special season.

FSU has another huge game next weekend as Duke comes to town. The Blue Devils are currently ranked No. 17 and have a tough game of their own this weekend at NC State.
