Jordan Travis: I'm as confident as I've ever been
Jordan Travis has been touted as one of the elite quarterbacks in college football in 2023, and he’s starting to believe in the hype, too.
The Florida State QB1 discussed his confidence level last week in the midst of showing off his arm alongside some of the best college quarterbacks at the Manning Passing Academy at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, La.
After enduring five years in the college ranks — he has no choice but to become a locker room leader.
“I’m as confident as I’ve ever been,” Travis said. “Obviously, going into my sixth year of college it’s time to flip that switch and become confident. But when you have teammates like I have, it’s pretty easy to be confident.
“When you have a strong offensive line, receivers across the field, you can throw it up and they’ll get it. The defense is really good … it’s a blessing, man.”
Through five seasons and two programs, Travis’ experience in college football — and the ACC in particular after transferring into FSU from Louisville — has bred confidence for the FSU vet. He’s gotten better each season he’s been in college, so who says he’s going to slow down now?
Last year, Travis threw for 3,214 yards, 24 touchdowns, five interceptions and a 64% completion percentage while also contributing 417 rushing yards and seven more touchdowns on the ground. As a team, 2022 also saw the Seminoles compile 10 wins in a single season for the first time since 2016.

Florida State has already begun Travis’ campaign for the 2023 Heisman Trophy — if you were wondering where the Seminoles’ anticipations lie.
With Travis’ experience and confidence, Florida State’s potential for the 2023 season is through the roof. Plus, when it comes to winning the Heisman Trophy — Travis will tell you his ultimate goal has always been to lead the Seminoles to a national championship.
Both campaigns are set to begin on Sept. 3 inside Camping World Stadium in Orlando against LSU. Kick-off has already been announced for 7:30 p.m. ET., though the broadcast parter has yet to be announced as of this report.
The ‘Noles won the 2022 matchup in a thrilling 24-23 finish after blocking a Tiger last-second PAT. Travis finished the game by completing 20-of-33 passes for 260 yards and two touchdowns — a similar performance would put him, and his team, on the right track for both the Heisman and College Football Playoff crown.
