Jordan Travis reacts to Joshua Burrell's move to RB, evaluates FSU running back room
Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis met with media following practice. Among the things he talked about was Joshua Burrell’s move to running back and the team’s running back room as a whole.
Joshua Burrell is moving from wide receiver to running back. He joins a room with players like Treshaun Ward, Trey Benson, and Lawrance Toafili already in it. This also comes as CJ Campbell suffered a season-ending injury.
“It’s awesome,” Jordan Travis said of Joshua Burrell. “I love seeing my teammates succeed. He has to keep working, obviously. It’s his first day out here. He looks great, he’s huge. I mean, he’s fast. Gonna be special.”
Jordan Travis also opened up about his thoughts on the running back room as a whole. It’s a group that he has nothing but praise for.
“Yeah, we have talent at every single spot in the running back room. Every single guy comes to work every single day.”
“They’re a bunch of great players. They’re each different in their own ways,” Jordan Travis said while listing the individual traits that make each running back special. That included things like Trey Benson’s speed and toughness, as well as Treshaun Ward’s vision.

Jordan Travis was a three-star quarterback in the Class of 2018, who transferred from Louisville to Florida State. He has played in 22 games over three seasons and has seen his stats steadily improve over the three seasons he’s been in Tallahassee.
He would benefit strong running game going forward. That’s where players like Joshua Burrell are important, as the former wide receiver brings tons of athleticism to the running back room.
Jordan Travis has received his own praise
While Jordan Travis had plenty of praise for his teammates, he received plenty of his own. Mycah Pittman, a Florida State wide receiver has said that Travis is “second to none.” Meanwhile, head coach Mike Norvell has praised his recent performance.
“He was very sharp,” Norvell said. “Very sharp in situations…I don’t know if he’s had a bad day throughout fall camp. It’s been good. There’s been decisions and things that we grow from, but he’s in a great space. I like what I’m seeing just in his continued growth and development.”
