Jordan Travis is back for another go-round at Florida State this year. According to his coach, it’s going pretty well.

Seminoles headman Mike Norvell met the media after practice this week and offered high praise for Travis. The former Louisville quarterback put up the best passing numbers of his career in 2022, throwing for 1,539 yards and 15 touchdowns.

But he’s taken strides to improve, and Norvell’s comments indicated training camp has gone well so far.

“He was very sharp,” Norvell said. “Very sharp in situations. … I don’t know if he’s had a bad day throughout fall camp. It’s been good. There’s been decisions and things that we grow from, but he’s in a great space. I like what I’m seeing just in his continued growth and development.”

In addition to his arm, Travis proved he could get the job done with his legs last season. He rushed for 530 yards and seven touchdowns, making him one of four ACC players to pass for 1,500 yards and rush for 500 yards.

Mike Norvell explains how Jordan Travis has progressed since end of 2021 season

Florida State head coach Mike Norvell had a front row seat to watch quarterback Jordan Travis progress throughout this offseason. He believes his QB1 has taken a huge leap heading into the 2022 college football season.

“I think that as you watch quarterback growth, it’s the driver of any offense,” Norvell said. “I’ll tell you that with Jordan being here and just seeing his growth and the ownership of this position and the opportunity that he has you look at the growth from this last season as he went through the year and just the confidence that started to show up within all of the experiences that he had on the field, the continued growth in the meeting room and now he is making it his.

“I’m so excited about that room and the future that Jordan has because that definitely pushes everything within our offense forward at an accelerated rate.”
