Florida State EDGE Joshua Farmer made a guarantee that the Seminoles will make the 12-team College Football Playoff.

Despite going 13-0 with an ACC Championship last season, FSU was left out of the four-team bracket in 2023. This time, there appear to be no excuses with the team they have back.

Plus, Farmer revealed the team’s attitude with those expectations and that’s to make it to the bracket and showcase what college football didn’t see last year.

“We’re pretty pissed off but as you know everything happened for a reason,” Farmer said. “So this year we’re trying to get back and do what we can to get where we’re supposed to be … We’re definitely going to make a run and we’re definitely going to be in that 12-team (playoff) … We pissed off … We know what we deserve and we’re going to try and get that.”

Farmer enters his fourth season with the team and set career highs in 2023. In 10 games, he had 32 total tackles, 10 solo tackles, seven tackles for loss, five sacks, two pass deflections and one forced fumble.

As a member of the Class of 2021, Farmer was a three-star recruit out of Apalachicola (Fla.) Gadsden County, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 89 overall prospect in the state, the No. 72 EDGE in the class and the No. 679 overall prospect in the class.

Farmer initially entered the transfer portal back in December, but opted to return to the team this season.

Joshua Farmer sees Florida State in College Football Playoff

Farmer isn’t the only member of Florida State who had strong feelings on last year’s result.

Recently, head coach Mike Norvell appeared on Always College Football. There, he expressed his thoughts on that snub and emphasized that 2024 is about moving forward as a team.

“It’s still all about us,” Norvell said. “To be honest with you. It’s just about where we are, where we’re going, and ultimately what we’re going to do with the opportunity that’s in front of us. I don’t reference back to last year. That’s not something that I do. We got a chip and an edge just because it’s an opportunity to go and improve and that’s what we’re here to do at Florida State.

“Anybody who was a part of last year’s team, we lived the experience. Nobody enjoyed having to go through it. It wasn’t right. One of those things that you’d never think would have happened, but it did.”
