Leonard Hamilton and the Florida State Seminoles currently trail the Virginia Tech Hokies by one in their ACC Tournament clash.

Hamilton’s team is in this thing. Speaking with ESPN’s Jess Sims at halftime of the broadcast, Hamilton revealed what his message would be to his team when he got into the locker room.

“Be a little bit more patient. Move the ball. Be a little more aggressive on offensive end, but continue to keep moving the ball,” Hamilton told Sims.

One of the players who has been on fire for the Seminoles is Jamir Watkins, who has 14 points, and Hamilton is hoping to keep getting him the ball in the second half.

“In our offense, he’s always going to shot, every time down the court. Read and react,” Hamilton added. “We’ve just got to make good decisions, and get the ball to people capable of scoring.”

Alas, Hamilton believes the game will come down to defense. He’s looking for the Seminoles to get some more stops against Virginia Tech, especially in transition, throughout the second half.

“Well, we’ve been okay in transition defense. Right now, we need our half-court defense to step it up a little bit. But they’re making some tough shots in the half-court each of these possessions,” Hamilton added. “So we’ve just got to get some stop.”

Trailing by one point, we’ll see if Leonard Hamilton and the Seminoles can survive and advance in the ACC Tournament moving forward.
