Georgia WR has abrupt change in plans
Ward is a former three-star recruit in the class of 2023. He was ranked as the No. 118 linebacker in the country that year, per the On3 Industry rankings.
The Georgia native played in nine games for the Seminoles this past season. He recorded 9 tackles, including 0.5 tackles for loss, as Florida State struggled to a 2-10 record.
DeMarco Ward appeared in two games while redshirting during the 2023 season as Florida State went 13-1, just missing out on a spot in the College Football Playoff. He attended Duluth High in Duluth, Georgia prior to signing with Florida State.
As a senior at Duluth, Ward recorded 74 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 2 sacks and a fumble recovery. Florida State has had several players enter the transfer portal since the conclusion of the 2024 season. That was to be expected after a disappointing year, which led to some staff changes.
