Michaela Edenfield shares inspiration behind her in-game eye makeup
Florida State softball catcher Michaela Edenfield is known for her excellent play on the field. Along with that excellent play, she also likes to show her personality in her phenomenal eye makeup.
Following Florida State’s win over Tennessee, Michaela Edenfield explained the inspiration behind her eye makeup in the game.
“Typically it only takes me, like, 30, 35, sometimes 40, depending,” Michaela Edenfield said. “It’s like the overthinking to it. I try to keep things as simple as possible. As soon as I start putting colors on my face, I just go for it.”
Edenfield emphasized that she wanted to find a way to honor Pride Month with her eye makeup. However, it didn’t seem to be coming along great at first and she had to trust the process to get there.
“But as you know, it’s Pride Month. I wanted to do something just to kind of honor that fact. I was asking around here and there, asking for some opinions. I got a little halfway. I posted my tutorial. Man, people are going to go halfway into this. This is not going to look good (laughter). It’s all about trusting the process. That applies on and off the field.”

That process was working on and off the field for Michaela Edenfield against Tennessee. In the second inning, she tied the game with a clutch home run.
Later, when talking about her mindset during that at bat, Edenfield said, “It’s as simple for me as just my processes to get my swing off and putting myself in a good position there to get my swing off I think. It’s as simple as just getting there, right? I just wanted to make sure that we got some runs in for my pitchers.”
