Mike Norvell confirms Ja'Khi Douglas will be available against Clemson
Mike Norvell delivered some good news on Tuesday, revealing that wideout Ja’Khi Douglas is finally ready to make his 2022 debut versus Clemson on Saturday.
After getting hurt in one of the Seminoles’ preseason scrimmages, Douglas missed the first six games of the season. Florida State had hoped to get the sophomore receiver back after Week 0, but the undisclosed injury was apparently more serious than they initially thought.
“It was great to have him back… he got his final clearance so he is going to be available to play,” Norvell said after Tuesday’s practice. “You see his speed, his explosiveness, the versatility of the things he does. We’re still going to bring him back into it but I thought he did a nice job on his first day back.”

In 2021, Douglas made three starts and was nearly a sure thing to start again this year in the slot.
The speedy red-shirt sophomore from Houma, Louisiana, was expected to play a more prominent role in the Seminoles’ offense this season. The Seminoles love his dual-threat ability and utilize him both in the passing and running game. Last season, Douglas recorded 14 receptions for 255 yards and a touchdown; along with seven rushing attempts for six yards.

Norvell provides timeline for Treshaun Ward’s return
Mike Norvell took the podium on Monday to provide an injury update on Seminoles running back Treshaun Ward.
Ward left the loss against the Wolfpack in the second half and later returned to the field with his right arm in a sling. With a huge ACC matchup with Clemson looming large, Norvell said, “We’ll see what happens this week” in regard to Ward’s recovery.
“We’ll see as the week goes on with him,” responded Norvell. “Tre is extremely tough. The way his durability has been such a strength, and he’s been such a constant impact for us. We’ll see as this week goes on.
“I know he’s going to go everything in his power to be available, but we’ll kind of see as things play out throughout the week.”
