Mike Norvell shares excitement of adding Keiondre Jones
Former Auburn offensive lineman Keiondre Jones already made an impression on Florida State head coach Mike Norvell.
Jones came to FSU as the No. 18-ranked interior offensive lineman in the transfer portal according to On3’s Transfer Portal Rankings. He seems to be a great addition to Florida State through the spring period.
Norvell raved about the offensive lineman addition.
“He’s big, he’s strong, he’s powerful,” Norvell said. “You know, I think that he’s a guy that’s played a lot of football and kind of in similar ways to what Dylan was. I mean, he’s as good as you get them in the run game. I mean, he’s definitely a bruiser. Just size and strength. I mean, he’s so very strong in the passing game (as well). (Keiondre is) continuing to grow and develop there and I like, you know, how coachable he is.
“Just him with Coach Atkins, it’s been really good. You know, just excited about the talent and experience that he brings to the program so look forward to him continuing to improve, but he’s definitely a great addition.”
As a member of the Class of 2019, Jones was a four-star recruit out of Hogansville (Ga.) Callaway, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 21 overall prospect in the state, the No. 11 interior offensive lineman in the class and the No. 174 overall prospect in the class.

Mike Norvell happy with Florida State’s motivation level
To take the next step, the team’s veterans need to stay motivated to push forward, rather than sit on their laurels.
Luckily for Florida State, Norvell seems to think that the team’s veterans have been able to keep their focus in this regard. That starts with those players still trying to improve.
“You know, Jordan Travis, Jared Verse, those guys. Lawrance Toafili has been remarkable through this. I think Johnny [Wilson], it’s impressive to see what he’s doing,” Norvell said. “I could go through a long list of guys.”
Additions like Jones can go a long way in helping Florida State contend and maybe win an ACC title.
Norvell cited the addition of Jones and returning players as reasons Florida State is in a good spot at the moment.
