Mike Norvell gives update on Jordan Travis after injury vs Boston College
Mike Norvell provided an update on quarterback Jordan Travis after the injury he suffered against Boston College on Saturday.
With a gigantic showdown with Clemson on the horizon for next weekend, Norvell gave Seminoles faithful some positive news regarding their quarterback.
“I was proud of him coming back,” Norvell said. “He got hit there, during the two-minute drill. Landed awkwardly. He was uncomfortable, probably physically, going into the second half. He came out, first two drives, had touchdown drives. Made some really good throws. Had some runs there late that were really good.
“I mean, he was sore after the game. But you know, I’m not worried about what his health will be here going forward.”
Evidently, Travis will be ready to roll, as long as practice goes well this week. Florida State has designs on getting to the College Football Playoff, and having their quarterback ready is what they’ll need to defeat the Tigers.
Moreover, Travis injured himself while scrambling to try and make something happen with less than a minute left in the first half, looking towards the first down marker. Unfortunately, he went down and stayed down for a couple of moments after an awkward landing, coming up just short of a first down. Afterwards, Travis was seen holding his left arm when he came to his feet.
Thankfully, Jordan Travis returned and helped lead Florida State to a victory, and he’ll be hoping to continue doing that throughout 2023.

Clemson vs. Florida State odds: Early point spread released on Tigers, Seminoles
Prior to the start of the season, the Sept. 23 showdown in Death Valley between Clemson and Florida State had all the makings of a matchup to shape the national title race. While it will play a role in the ACC and potentially the College Football Playoff race, the game has lost some luster.
Clemson lost to Duke, 28-7, on opening weekend and hasn’t looked the part of a potential national championship contender. And despite a scare at Boston College on Saturday, an undefeated Florida State squad opens as 2.5-point favorites according to FanDuel.
The biggest storyline heading into the game is the health of Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis, who got banged up as the Seminoles survived a scare in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. Travis appeared to injure his non-throwing shoulder but played the remainder of the game — and his team needed him.
After going down early to the Eagles, Florida State appeared to be in the driver’s seat, holding a 31-10 lead in the third quarter.
But the Eagles clawed back and clawed back, eventually getting the game within a score, 31-29. Boston College outscored Florida State 13-0 in the final quarter, coming a two-point conversion short of a tie. But the Seminoles had just a little too much defense for the Eagles to overcome.
