Florida State wide receiver Darion Williamson has been battling injuries this season, only allowing him to play in four games. Still, head coach Mike Norvell is hopeful that the Seminoles will see the talented wide receiver will be able to return this season.

The question came up while Mike Norvell was speaking to the media ahead of Florida State’s game against Louisiana.

“We’re hopeful,” Mike Norvell said. “I mean, it’s what we’re working toward.”

“I know he’s doing more work at practice now and we’ll see what that looks like toward the end of the week, and like I said, we’re hopeful we’ll get him for at least some point before the season’s end.”

Darion Williamson is running out of time to return this season. Florida State only has two games left, against Louisiana and rival Florida. Then, there will be the bowl game for the Seminoles. As a redshirt sophomore, who was a three-star recruit in the Class of 2020, Williamson still has eligibility left at Florida State.

Mike Norvell praised his team’s play

Florida State has hit its stride under Mike Norvell, after a mid-season losing streak. The Seminoles are playing well, and Norvell has taken notice.

“It’s still about us. It’s still about our growth, still about our process, still about us making sure that we’re cleaning up the areas that we can clean up and go out there and play our best game,” Mike Norvell said.

“Was tonight perfect? No. So, I can promise you tomorrow we’re going to go back to work. We’re going to focus on the things that we need to do to continue to improve and get better. That’s what this team is embracing. When you continue to believe, you are investing that work, you’re pouring into each other and you’re doing it with all your heart. It’s fun to watch and play. I think our guys are playing as good as anybody right now.”
