According to Mike Norvell’s recent comments, Florida State may just have another star quarterback coming down the pipe once Jordan Travis leaves.
In the latest recruiting class, Florida State hit the trail looking for a potential QB of the future, since current starter Jordan Travis is enjoying the final year of eligibility that the NCAA is willing to grant him. He’s set up for a huge year this fall, but it’s always nice to have a plan for the future, which is where a kid named Brock Glenn comes in. He committed to the ‘Noles as part of the 2023 class and is just learning the ropes since getting on campus for the fall.
However, Coach Norvell says he’s already playing well above his age in practice.
“He’s a very impressive freshman,” the Florida State coach answered when asked about the freshman QB’s progress. “You know, just his maturity. I know we talked about in the spring, where the moment never seems too big for him.”
Norvell continued, explaining that he’s liked Glenn’s mindset with handling the good with the bad out there, especially in his very first year.
“And, you know, he was live for some series tonight and did some good things. I mean, I thought he, you know, handled the good and responded to the to the negative plays. I mean, because he had some of those too.”
Even when he does have bad plays, Glenn is never one to turn his ear away from feedback.
“But you know, he is always listening, always trying to learn, trying to apply,” Norvell added, then complimenting Glenn’s performance in the team scrimmage over the weekend.

“But you know, he’s an instinctual player and I thought he did a did a great job, you know, throughout the course of the evening, yeah. And like I said, I got to go back and watch all of it to give you kind of a full breakdown of it.”
Norvell further complimented Brock Glenn, this time on his maturity and presence rather than his actual game.
“He definitely doesn’t act like a freshman. And, you know, for what we thought we were getting, I mean, he’s probably further along than that. We knew we were getting a really good quarterback, but you know, just his mental maturity and, you know, the way he grasped so many things offensively, just his presence out there is really good.”
Sounds like the FSU freshman QB is bursting out of the gates in his first fall camp. Out of high school, Glenn was rated as a three-star recruit in the ’23 class by the On3 Industry Rankings. He was also slotted as the No. 465 overall player and the No. 29 quarterback.
