As Tropical Storm Nicole strengthens into a hurricane, it has the potential to disrupt college football games this weekend. That includes teams like Florida State, even though the Seminoles play at Syracuse, whose travel could be affected by this.

While speaking to the media, head coach Mike Norvell was asked if the storm was going to impact the team’s travel.

“As of right now, there’s not been any adjustments that have been needed,” Mike Norvell explained.

“But, we have been in communication, just tracking all things. But, we don’t feel as if it’s going to be adjusted as of right now.”

It sounds like Florida State is on schedule to travel on schedule. However, depending on the path of the storm and how much it strengthens, things could change in the coming days.

Mike Norvell on roster management

Following highly touted freshman Sam McCall’s announcement that he was going to enter the transfer portal, Mike Norvell was asked about roster management going forward.

“We’ve got young freshmen. Some are playing, some are not playing at all, some want to play more. If they didn’t have that in them then they’re not supposed to be here. They’re not supposed to be at Florida State. But with that, it’s about trusting the process of that growth, trusting the process of what they’re doing and then being able to control,” Mike Norvell said.

“Being able to control the emotional reaction of, ‘Man, this is not looking exactly like what I want it to be right now,’ but you don’t need to do this or that, but you can just continue to trust the process of what you can control to get better and to put yourself closer to ultimately what you want it to be.”
