At the ACC spring meetings, Florida State head coach Mike Norvell gave an update on where defensive lineman Darrell Jackson is in the waiver process.

This offseason, Jackson decided to transfer for a second time. He began his college career at Maryland before going to Miami and now Florida State. This being his second transfer since the new rules, he has to sit out a season. However, the Seminoles are applying for a waiver.

“We’ve had good conversations just making sure that they, as you go through the waiver process sometimes it’s back and forth, making sure you’re providing as much information,” Mike Norvell explained. “So, there’s been good back and forth in providing all the questions that the NCAA would have.”

Darrell Jackson was a three-star recruit in the Class of 2021, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. In 20 college games, he has 49 total tackles and three sacks.

“Appreciate Darrell and just the family and being able to help with that. So, that’s just kind of what we’ve been working through, but hopefully it’ll be something that we know before we get too far into the summer. So, I think that’s been important and we do have a sense of urgency and I think that the NCAA understands that.

In January, Jackson admitted that getting eligible was going to be a process, saying, “Everything [I’m] going through, it’s a process.”
