Mike Norvell provides update on the return of Winston Wright
Florida State lost transfer wide receiver Winston Wright for an extended period of time after a car accident in the Spring. According to head coach Mike Norvell, the accident was so bad that “We’re thankful that with the severity of the accident that he’s still here.” Wright was the passenger in the car. Since then, Wright has been working to get healthy and back on the field, again.
While speaking to the media, Mike Norvell was asked for an update on Winston Wright.
“It’s amazing,” Mike Norvell said. “He’s working through the process. I mean, he’s going through his rehabilitation.

“He’s getting more and more on the field to get him into some routes, get him in the return game. You know, it’s going to be a process, just as he goes there’s going to be really good days, there’s going to be some days that we gotta modify and adjust,” Mike Norvell said.
“I just love the young man’s spirit and the work that he’s putting in it.”
Winston Wright was a consensus three-star recruit in the Class of 2019. He initially went to West Virginia, where he was a key offensive weapon. In 2021, he had 63 catches in five touchdowns. Before the car accident, he transferred to Florida State to play for Mike Norvell.
