Florida State could have a quarterback question after Jordan Travis left last week’s game against Louisville with an injury. But Mike Norvell isn’t changing how he’s approaching his preparation for this week’s game against Boston College.

Travis left last week’s game and came back to the sidelines on crutches. After he left, Tate Rodemaker came in and helped lead the Seminoles to the win and improve to 3-0 on the season. As of now, Norvell said Travis is still being evaluated and he’s keeping himself prepared for everything.

“We’re evaluating Jordan on how Jordan’s doing,” Norvell said. “Jordan, as the week progresses, if he’s prepared to play, he’s going to play.”

However, Norvell thinks Rodemaker has the ability to fill the role if called upon. Against Louisville, he completed six of 10 passes for 109 yards and two touchdowns, proving he’s capable of running the show. He also got quite a vote of confidence from his coach.

“Tate has his strengths and things that we probably want to showcase, but that’s every week,” Norvell said. “We were prepared if he wasn’t in the game last week, what we wanted that to look like and what it would be. … There’s nothing that Tate can’t do that we do offensively. I’m not in control of what anybody else is going to do to try to defend us, so we’ll be able to respond and react to whatever we see.”

Jordan Travis praises Tate Rodemaker after comeback victory over Louisville

Florida State‘s backup quarterback Tate Rodemaker was forced into Friday’s 35-31 victory over the Louisville Cardinals on the road following a first-half leg injury to starter Jordan Travis. Despite a rocky start, Rodemaker was able to lead the ‘Noles back from a halftime deficit to remain unbeaten on the season.

Following the victory, Travis voiced his confidence in Rodemaker via Twitter and was the first to congratulate his fellow quarterback on his comeback performance.

“TATE RODEMAKER!!!!! I couldn’t be happier AT ALL. No one knows what that kid has been through. God is great all the time! Great win,” Travis tweeted after midnight Saturday morning.
