Mike Norvell says Florida State signed 'a special group'
National Signing Day has come and gone, and Florida State has acquired the No. 20 recruiting class in the country this cycle, per the 2023 On3 consensus rankings. Seminoles headman Mike Norvell discussed his class and what he expects them to accomplish during their time in Tallahassee.
“I mean, this is a special group. Very talented individuals. Elite-level game changers for our program. But the best quality about these 22 young men we get to announce right now are the hearts, the minds, the passion, the work ethic, the relationships,” Norvell said Wednesday. “It’s a special group when it comes to that coupled with the great ability and potential that they have and the impact they are going to make on the field.
“I do believe this is a group that is definitely a special, is special in regards to their play-making ability. You’re going to see a lot of versatility among positions of what guys can do; the variety of things that they can bring to our program and we were able to hit on a lot of our top choices.”
Norvell’s class currently ranks third in the ACC and is headlined by five-star wide receiver Hykeem Williams. Williams is the No. 5 wideout in the 2023 class and No. 30 player overall. The Fort Lauderdale native chose FSU over Miami, Texas A&M and Georgia.
