The Florida State Seminoles are getting new uniforms and a lot of people are excited about it. That includes head coach Mike Norvell.

Norvell explained his thoughts on the new uniforms following the team’s spring game.

“It’s great and something that we’ve definitely discussed,” Mike Norvell said. “You know, Jason Baisden is remarkable, our partnership with Nike and just the collaboration with the athletic department. We work together through it.”

Florida State has one of the iconic uniforms in college football and this change to the uniforms isn’t going to change that. As Norvell went on to explain, these new uniforms pay attention to the program’s tradition while modernizing their uniforms.

“I love the traditional look that it shows, but also representing the Seminole tribe and keeping that a part of what we’re doing and making sure that still has its strong place in the uniform but still getting back to that classic Florida State that’s so well appreciated, and I think it’s a great looking uniform,” Norvell said.

“I think they’ve done a wonderful job and excited to see our guys wearing it here this fall.”

Mike Norvell on Florida State’s quarterback play

Mike Norvell is lucky to have the experienced Jordan Travis returning to play quarterback. However, Travis isn’t the only quarterback in the room, with the entire unit doing its best to improve this spring.

I think it was good. There was good and there were some plays that were very teachable moments for all four of them. I thought they did a good job of responding. I’m really pleased with the growth in that room. There’s a lot of competition…..All those guys are pushing forward,” Norvell said.

Brock [Glenn] had a series where he missed a couple of throws early. I was glad to see him come back in the end and have that touchdown drive and to not let it go the other way. There was a series that I thought [AJ Duffy] was just a little hesitant in some of the decision-making…And I thought he had a really good drive at the end as well. Tate [Rodemaker] has done a great job of continuing to push to take another step. Jordan is really working to improve and today was not perfect. There was things that he knows in the moment where it could be better and where he can be even more efficient.”
