Florida State was hoping to produce some magic, looking to produce a game-winning drive against Oklahoma in the Cheez-It Bowl. However, in the midst of driving down the field, there was a scary moment involving offensive lineman Jazston Turnetine.

The Seminoles got deep into the red zone, looking to burn some clock. Just running simple handoffs, Turnetine went down with an apparent leg injury. All of the Florida State medical staff and head coach Mike Norvell rushed onto the field to check on their player.

Eventually, the cart was brought out to take Turnetine off the field and into the locker room. As it began to drive away, the entire Florida State team went to wish him well.

A heartwarming moment for the Seminoles as they look to secure their 10-win season. You can watch the full moment here.

Just two plays later, Florida State was able to deliver for their guy. A short field goal went through the uprights, giving Mike Norvell’s team a three-point lead with just seconds remaining. A stop on the other end made the win official, giving the Seminoles 10 wins.

It’s been a slow but worthwhile turnaround for Norvell, who gets to double-digit wins for the first time since Jimbo Fisher did it in 2016.

Turnetine was a staple across the offensive line this season in Tallahassee, playing in all 13 games. He spent previous seasons with South Carolina, being one of the many transfers Norvell brought into the program.

He was originally a member of the 2018 recruiting class — meaning, his time in college football could be over. While going off with an injury is never a positive, seeing Florida State holding on to get a win can be viewed as a positive for Turnetine.

And it’s easy to tell how much his teammates love him.
