Five-Star Plus+ Ohio State WR commit Jeremiah Smith visits Florida State
Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep Five-Star Plus+ Ohio State wide receiver commit Jeremiah Smith has returned to Tallahassee for another unofficial visit.
The 6-foot-3, 200-pound pass-catcher is the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Smith has been committed to Ohio State since last December but has taken several visits to other schools since that pledge. Florida State is one of those schools that Smith has now visited multiple times since that commitment.
He was in Tallahassee in March for an unofficial and returned again on June 19 for an official visit.
“The visit went well and I had a great time,” Smith told On3 about the March visit. “Coach (Mike) Norvell and Coach (Ron) Dugans, even though I’m committed, they still want to get to know me, recruit me and build a relationship because anything could happen. Coach (Brian) Hartline could get a job in the NFL, coaches could get fired, really anything could happen.

In the visits he’s had in the past, Smith has noted that he’s left impressed after talking with Seminoles head coach Mike Norvell.
“Coach Norvell is a passionate guy who loves the game of football just like me,” Smith said. “He loves to compete and told me that if I come up there, I’ll be working hard. I love to work hard and I love to be challenged so I really like that about him.
…The way we were talking in his office, he was telling me that they need me and that I’m a program changer. He said that I could come in, change the program and win a national title with them if they build the right class.”

Smith currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $456K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
