On300 4-star athlete Edwin Joseph sets Florida State visit
Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep four-star athlete Edwin Joseph will visit Florida State this weekend, he announced on Thursday morning.
The trip is expected to be his second this fall after he came into town for the Clemson game on October 15. The Seminoles didn’t make it into his top four schools list, which he released last month. That included Louisville, Utah, Miami and Penn State. After a strong start to his senior year though, Joseph has seen his recruitment blow up even further.
“Before my senior year, I wasn’t really leaning towards a school,” he told On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons. “But once things opened up, it opened up my options, so it’s better for opportunity. So right now, it’s all about opportunity. Take a couple more visits to the schools that I like a lot and talk to the most, then most likely, make a decision probably like end of October, maybe December.”
Joseph is the No. 424 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 18 athlete and the No. 82 senior recruit in the state of Florida.

On3 is significantly higher on him than other recruiting services though, as seen in the Industry Comparison. In the most recent On300 rankings, he was tabbed as the No. 265 prospect nationally, No. 10 athlete and No. 54 player in the Sunshine State.
Edwin Joseph Scouting Summary
“Two-way starter at corner and wide receiver whose ball skills shine on both sides of the ball. High point ability and natural hands jump off the screen. Very comfortable pass catcher. Shifty with the ball in his hands who can make tacklers miss in a phone booth. Excellent hip fluidity. Impressive change of direction and ability to stay in phase at corner.
… See the physicality shine more on offense than defense. Tough to bring down as a ball carrier and is a willing tackler but not overly violent or ferocious. Projects as a quality cover corner with excellent ball skills on defense. Strong Z or slot receiver on offense who can paper cut defenses in the intermediate and underneath passing game. On the younger end of the spectrum for the 2023 recruiting class.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
