Former Oregon wide receiver Mycah Pittman announces transfer destination
Even before Mario Cristobal decided to leave for Miami, Oregon Ducks players had hit the transfer portal. On Sunday, a former wide receiver ended his second recruitment and will be playing against his former head coach next season.
Mycah Pittman announced he will be transferring to the Florida State Seminoles. He announced the news via Twitter, saying “Blessed and grateful for this opportunity, let’s work.” Originally from California, Pittman will not be heading across the country to Tallahassee.
Pittman appeared in 10 games this season, having 12 receptions for 197 yards. He was a factor on special teams as well, returning 15 punts for 151 yards. Head coach Mike Norvell will now have a new weapon at his disposal not just on offense but in the punt game.
As a recruit, Pittman was a four-star prospect on the On3 Consensus and ranked as the No. 20 wide receiver in the country. He just missed out on being a top 100 player, being ranked No. 101. If Pittman originally committed to Florida State during the 2019 cycle, he would have been the second-highest signee.
“He’s moving on, we’re moving,” former Oregon coach Mario Cristobal said after Pittman entered the transfer portal. “We wish him the best.”
Now, Cristobal will have to scheme against Pittman for the Miami Hurricanes. While the official date has not been set, it’s always a fun affair between the two in-state rivals. This could add another wrinkle.
Mycah Pittman not only Oregon player leaving the program
The Oregon Ducks top corner Mykael Wright will not be with the team for their upcoming game against the Oklahoma Sooners in the Alamo bowl. Wright announced on Twitter that he would be opting out of the bowl game and entering the 2022 NFL draft.

The third-year sophomore is the third organ player to opt-out of the Alamo bowl while declaring for the draft. Wright joins edge rusher and potential number one overall pick Kayvon Thibodeaux and receiver Devon Williams in that category.
In his final year at Oregon, he had 65 tackles, three for a loss, a forced fumble, four pass breakups, and an interception. The Ducks also used Wright to return kickoffs this season. He had 12 returns for an average of 27.6 yards.
Wide receiver Devon Williams has declared for the NFL draft as well, he announced via Instagram. He will not play in the Alamo Bowl against Oklahoma.
Listed as a sophomore, Williams led the team in receiving with 35 catches for 557 yards and four touchdowns in 2021.
