Predicting Florida State's record in 2023
There are huge expectations for Florida State in 2023. After finally bouncing back and becoming one of the game’s best teams in 2022, fans are excited to see if the Seminoles can take the next step against an interesting schedule.
In a YouTube short, On3’s JD PicKell broke down the Florida State schedule, predicting the team’s record for the 2023 regular season.
“I’m predicting every game on Florida State’s schedule in less than 60 seconds,” PicKell said. “Starting the year off in Orlando against LSU on a Sunday. This one’s going to be back and forth, gonna be hard fought, I actually think that LSU gets revenge. I think you drop this one, first game of the year.”
“But then you beat Southern Miss. Go to Boston College, take care of business there. You go to Clemson, this is gonna be the biggest ACC game on your schedule. I think you win this one on the road. Huge win for Mike Norvell heading into the bye week.”
One thing that is interesting about Florida State’s 2023 schedule is that two of its most important games, against LSU and Clemson, come in September. Those games could set the tone for the entire season.
“Then you beat Virginia Tech, then you beat Syracuse, then you beat Duke. The good times keep rolling, you beat Wake Forest at Wake Forest. You get a big win at Pitt. Then you beat Miami, another in-state foe. You beat North Alabama. You finish the year off with a rivalry win at Florida to finish the year 11-1 and lock up a spot in the ACC Title game.”

A win in that ACC Title game would likely propel Florida State to the College Football Playoff, assuming PicKell is right and the Seminoles were a one-loss team.
Jordan Travis wants to win a national championship at Florida State
Star quarterback Jordan Travis knows that he has a chance to win major awards this season. However, his focus remains on bringing a national championship to Florida State.
“Yeah, it’s a blessing for sure. Being talked about, especially at that magnitude and how special that award is, it’s a blessing for sure. But like I said before man, I’m a guy that wants to win a national championship. I came here to win a national championship,” Travis said.
“I never said I’m coming here to win a Heisman. I care about winning the football games. After that, other things will come.”
