More reinforcements are on the way for Florida State this spring.

Destyn Hill, a top-120 player in the 2021 class who inked with the Seminoles over LSU and Alabama, is finally expected to arrive on campus this spring. Hill is trending toward enrolling at Florida State in May, On3 learned in December.

Multiple sources close to the situation confirmed to On3 that Hill is still on track to join the Florida State football program in May.

Hill, the No. 88 overall player in the country out of New Orleans (La.) Edna Karr in the 2021 recruiting cycle, was a massive get for Mike Norvell, Ron Dugans and David Johnson coming out of high school when he selected Florida State over the Crimson Tide and in-state Tigers, who both coveted the speedy receiver.

Johnson was the first to offer Hill during the spring leading into his junior season while a member of Tennessee’s staff. As soon as Johnson joined Norvell’s coaching staff at Florida State, he made Hill a top priority on offense and helped the Seminoles beat out Oklahoma, Alabama, Georgia and LSU for the speedy New Orleans pass-catcher.

Hill turned 54 receptions into 1,000-plus yards and 14 touchdowns for Louisiana powerhouse Edna Karr as a junior during a breakout season in 2019, and then had 38 catches as a senior, 15 of which went for touchdowns as a senior at Edna Karr. Hill averaged better than 23 YPC during the 2020 season with verified elite track speed (sub-4.4-second 40-yard dash, 11.09 second in the 100M).

Hill was expected to be an immediate contributor in Tallahassee coming out of high school and will have full eligibility when he arrives on campus. The talented wide receiver will have five years to play four seasons for the Seminoles.

After inking with the Seminoles in 2021, there was buzz about Hill carving out a role on Norvell’s offense immediately.

Florida State just signed a talented group of wide receivers in the 2023 class. That group includes five-star Hykeem Williams out of Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) Stranahan and four-star Vandrevius Jacobs out of Fort Pierce (Fla.) Westwood, who both are enrolled early at FSU and going through spring drills. Hill figures to compete with the incoming freshmen as he gets acclimated to campus.

Hill has former prep teammate Jamie Vance on the Florida State roster. Vance inked with Louisville in 2020 before transferring to Tallahassee a year later after Hill also inked with the Seminoles.
