The No. 6 seed Florida State Seminoles are moving onto the quarterfinals in the 2024 Women’s ACC Tournament. The Seminoles led by 20 points at halftime and kept their foot on the gas, cruising to a 70-53 win over No. 14 seed Wake Forest Demon Deacons in their ACC Tournament matchup. Florida State was led by outstanding performances from Makayla Timpson (22 points, 13 rebounds) and Ta’Niya Latson (19 points, six rebounds).

Following the big win, Latson spoke with Angel Gray of the ACC Network.

“It’s like every other game. Just trying to go out there and be me. Do what I can for my teammates. Get my teammates open. And just make the right plays,” Latson said.

The Demon Deacons battled back to cut the FSU lead to 13 points at one point in the second half. What did the FSU players say in order to keep their foot on the gas and finish off the victory?

“We’ve seen a lot of teams get up by a lot and lose. So, we wanted to be solid. We had to stay solid. We knew they were gonna make a run there. They’re a pretty good team. But we wanted to keep our foot on their necks,” Latson said.
