Lucas (Texas) Lovejoy four-star wide receiver Daylan McCutcheon has committed to Florida State, he announced on Saturday. He chose the Seminoles over USC, Ohio State, Texas and SMU.

“I have 38 offers and this decision was by far the hardest thing I have ever had to make. I probably have gone back a fourth 30 times with my decision,” McCutcheon told On3. “I made the final decision on Saturday. It came down to pros and cons and what the schools that are going to accomplish my goals for me to choose one.”

“My family is originally from Florida and Florida State is a big school when it comes to my family,” he said earlier this week. “The fanbase of Florida State is big and when you look at campus life, the main thing in Tallahassee is Florida State football. I like that a lot.

“Another reason why I like Florida State is coach Mike Norvell and how he is going to be able to push me each and every day if I go there. I like how he made the culture of the team family-oriented.”

McCutcheon took his official visit to FSU the weekend of June 21.

“It was a great OV overall, I really enjoyed my time being here,” McCutcheon said. “Main highlights for me was being able to hang out with the players, and the people on the staff. They definitely showed great hospitality. I really enjoyed my time with them.”

Jacksonville Mandarin four-star quarterback pledge Tramell Jones has continued to see his stock rise. Cocoa four-star EDGE Javion Hilson is a former Alabama pledge who joined the fold in Tallahassee in January following the retirement of Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban.
