Florida State running back Treshaun Ward gave fans a scare after a first quarter touchdown, when he faked a hamstring injury while celebrating his score. Ward danced through the middle of the line as the blocks developed and punched in his first touchdown of the season, celebrating with his teammates before running towards the sideline.
Then, Ward grabbed suddenly at his hamstring before starting to limp very obviously — drawing the attention of the broadcast team as well. Just as they began to comment on the apparent injury, Ward turned his limp into a sort of hop-step celebration and continued to run off the field perfectly fine.
Treshaun Ward’s fake hamstring injury celebration
Ward’s huge first half featured plenty of broken tackles, but his touchdown showcased his ability to find holes in the line as he reached the end zone untouched. However, his joking about a hamstring injury certainly put a few seconds of fear into fans as he sold it perfectly.

Overall, the Seminoles dominated in the run game with three players rushing for over 100 yards and six total rushing touchdowns between five players. On the opposite side of the ball, Duquesne as a team failed to rush for more than 100 yards total on the day.
Trey Benson and Lawrance Toafili were the other two players to rush for 100 yards on the day, each adding a touchdown of their own. Adding to the impressive rushing totals is the fact that the trio of backs never rushed for a massive gain, with Ward and Toafili’s longest runs being 21 and 23 yards, respectively.
