Report: Treshaun Ward not expected to play for Florida State vs Clemson
When Florida State takes the field against Clemson on Saturday, it will likely once again be without Treshaun Ward. ESPN’s Holly Rowe reported the news Friday during an appearance on The Paul Finebaum Show.
Ward is dealing with an upper body injury and was seen wearing a sling on his right arm during last week’s game against NC State. His absence is big for the Seminoles since he leads the team with 488 rushing yards.
However, Rowe said there’s optimism about the other players in that running back room to make in impact against Clemson in Tallahassee.

“Just quickly, a couple of key injuries for Florida State, they are still likely to be without their top running back, Treshaun Ward,” Rowe said. “But they have some young guys who are hungry and looking to make their name. They’ve kind of had a running back by committee behind him and I expect them to look really good. They looked great at practice this morning.”

Treshaun Ward posts injury update on Instagram
With the weekend past, college football teams are reevaluating where they’re at with a new week ahead. For Florida State, part of that reevaluation is determining how serious the injury to running back Treshaun Ward is. Mike Norvell said they’d ‘see what happens’ after the Seminole’s loss to NC State on Saturday but, as of today, many could assume where his injury stands based on a post by Ward from earlier today.
Ward shared a photo on his Instagram story earlier on Monday. Based on the context, it seems he may be out for a potentially significant amount of time.
There has been no official announcement so any thoughts on the post would be speculation. However, this was not the positive update the Seminoles were looking for when it came to their RB1.
