Tyre West heading to Tallahassee for key Florida State official visit
One week after taking an unofficial visit to Auburn, Georgia four-star defensive line commitment Tyre West of Tifton (Ga.) Tift County is set for another trip.
This time West, who has been committed to UGA for nearly a year, will be in Tallahassee for an official visit to Florida State.
The Seminoles have been one team that has been trending for West for quite some time, despite his commitment. Intel indicates the Noles might actually now be in the driver’s seat over Auburn, Tennessee and Georgia.
Along with his visit to FSU this weekend, he told On3’s Auburn Live he will be in Knoxville Dec. 10. West said he could take an official visit to Auburn mid-week. The early signing period begins on Dec. 15.
“It might be during the week, but I’ll definitely be back,” West said. “I’m looking very hard at Auburn.”

Tyre West is serious flip candidate
On3’s flip forecast says there’s a 60% chance that West changes his commitment.
One of the Seminoles’ biggest pitches to West is the opportunity to come in as a freshman and see significant playing time. It’s a message that has resonated with him to this point. West has been on FSU’s campus a number of times since he committed to Georgia. That’s a sure sign that things are moving in the Noles’ direction.
The Bulldogs already have two of the top 10 defensive linemen in the 2022 class committed: five-star Mykel Williams and four-star Bear Alexander. They also remain in contention for five-star Shemar Stewart and four-stars Nyjalik Kelly, Hero Kanu and Christen Miller. Georgia also signed three defensive linemen each in the 2020 and 2021 recruiting cycles.
