UCF transfer Darin Green Jr. has committed to Florida State, he told On3 on Monday.

The 6-foot-4 junior guard has spent the last three seasons down at the University of Central Florida, where he led the team in scoring after averaging 13.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game during the 2021-22 season.

“I selected FSU because I feel like it’s the best place to help me reach my academic and athletic goals,” Green said to On3. “I’ll have a chance to play basketball under legendary coach Leonard Hamilton while completing my studies in Business. The family atmosphere that has been created here at FSU Basketball is unique and I wanted to be part of this family.”

Green, a Charlotte native, is Florida State’s second commitment via the transfer portal. The Seminoles landed Jaylan Gainey, a 6-foot-9 center from Brown University late last month.

Darin Green is ranked as the sixth best shooting guard in the transfer portal, according to Jamie Shaw — On3’s National Recruiting Analyst.

There will be plenty of new faces in Tallahassee next season, as the ‘Noles also welcome five incoming freshmen: four-star CG Chandler Jackson, four-star C Cameron Corhen, three-star PF De’Ante Green, three-star SF Tom House, and three-star PG Jeremiah Bembry.
