Another test is waiting for Florida State at home on Saturday night. Duke will enter Doak S. Campbell Stadium as a ranked opponent, hoping to pull off an upset on Mike Norvell‘s team. However, the Seminoles will be celebrating Homecoming throughout the weekend, welcoming old players and alumni back to Tallahassee.

A few hours before the game, the uniform combination Florida State will wear was revealed. It’s going to be a “classic” look for Homecoming, sporting the traditional Garnett and Gold. No reason to do anything fancy on a big weekend for the program.

They used star defensive end Jared Verse‘s jersey to show it off on Twitter. One of the more iconic color schemes in all of college football, Florida State is keeping things simple in an important ACC showdown.

The atmosphere in Tallahassee is bound to be a good one, getting ready for a ranked matchup. It’s the third straight home game for Florida State as well, with the Seminole faithful getting used to seeing their team play on Saturdays. Everyone in the stadium will be hoping it results in another win.

And they will attempt to do so in the traditional uniform. Maybe the classic combination will lead to a classic win by Florida State, eventually sending everyone home happy on Homecoming.

More on Florida State facing Duke in important ACC showdown

Heading into Saturday’s game, both Duke and Florida State are undefeated in ACC play. The Blue Devils have lost during the regular season but it came against Notre Dame. A heartbreaking loss in Durham earlier in the year but it has no effect on their ability to make the ACC Championship game.

Florida State has two of the best wins of the season of any team in the country. Beating LSU is looking better by the week while winning in Death Valley against Clemson is no easy task. Taking down Duke would be another box checked, especially going up against a talented defensive unit led by head coach Mike Elko.

They could be getting a break on the defensive end, though. It is still up in the air whether or not Duke starting quarterback Riley Leonard will be able to play. He suffered an ankle injury late in the loss to Notre Dame and is may not be ready to return to action.
