Vanderbilt transfer offensive tackle Gunnar Hansen has signed with Florida State, On3’s Hayes Fawcett reported. He spent the past four seasons with the Commodores but will play his final year of college eligibility in Tallahassee for the 2025 season.

Hansen was a three-year starter at left tackle for Vanderbilt who routinely earned some of the best pass blocking grades on the team. This past season in a 40-35 upset win against Alabama, he did not allow a single sack while grading out as the team’s top offensive lineman according to Pro Football Focus.

The 6-foot-5 offensive lineman played his high school football at St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he was a three-star prospect. He ranked as the No. 1,435 overall player and No. 128 offensive tackle in the 2021 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Hansen took a redshirt during his first year at Vanderbilt and did not appear in any games. The went on the start 11 games the following season and was a full-time member of the starting front each year after.

Additionally, Florida State has lost 17 players already in this transfer portal cycle. That in mind, they certainly have some ground to make up before the portal closes on Dec. 28.

Currently, the Seminoles rank No. 10 according to On3’s Transfer Portal Team Rankings. They’ll look to climb up even farther coming off of a 2-10 season.
