Wake Forest transfer offensive lineman Luke Petitbon has committed to Florida State, according to his Twitter page. Here is the graphic he posted with the announcement of the news on Thursday. He started 11 games during the 2024 season for the Demon Deacons, earning All-ACC honorable mention honors.

Petitbon logged a total of 813 snaps throughout the 2024 season, putting in 80 or more snaps on the offensive line in six games. He also earned ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week honors after tallying 91 snaps in the victory against Stanford.

In that one, he graded out at 93 percent, with three knockdowns and no sacks allowed. Petitbon was consistently graded as one of the best centers in the nation, according to Pro Football Focus. His 88.3 pass blocking grade put him third nationally among all qualified centers.

He only allowed one sack all season, tying him for the fewest in the conference among ACC centers. As a sophomore in 2023, Petitbon started in 11 games, tallying 809 total snaps. Petitbon finished the year with the fourth overall highest grade for a center in the ACC.

Coming out of high school, he played for Gonzaga (Washington DC), where he was one of the most highly coveted offensive linemen in the country. He played in the Under Armour All-American Game.

Wake Forest finished 4-8 overall and 2-6 in the ACC, while FSU had one of the worst seasons in school history this year. They finished 2-10 overall and will be looking to drastically improve that record in 2025. The Seminoles landed Boston College transfer quarterback Thomas Castellanos out of the portal. He ran for over 1,100 yards in 2023, before being benched in the 2024 season.

Wake head coach Dave Clawson decided to step down at the end of the 2024 season. While the Demon Deacons struggled through the 2024 campaign, Clawson left behind a legacy as one of the more successful coaches in WFU football history. They had seven consecutive bowl appearances, an Atlantic Division title in 2021, and he guided Wake to their first ever Top 10 national ranking in back-to-back seasons (2021 and 2022).
