Orange Park (Fla.) Fleming Island four-star running back Samuel Singleton is one of the top running backs in the Sunshine State. The Florida State commit proved why on Friday night against Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin.

Singleton took a handoff near multiple defenders. However, he took off past them and eventually raced untouched into the end zone.

The 5-foot-11, 180 pound tailback is the No. 329 overall prospect and No. 21 running back in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 59 player in Florida.

“I’m very excited,” Singleton told Michael Langston of Warchant on Aug 5 about Florida State. “It’s the place I really felt right at home every time I was there, and I really believe they are building something special.”

“I would say it’s the family there, and I know and trust Coach Johnson and Coach Norvell a lot,” Singleton added. “They want to use me everywhere in the backfield with my speed. I feel we are going to do something special.”

Singleton is the ninth-highest-rated prospect in the Seminoles’ 2023 recruiting class. Florida State’s group is currently No. 16 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 3 in the ACC.

Singelton has an On3 NIL Valuation of $21K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
